University of Nottingham Developing Solutions Masters Scholarship
TextThe University of Nottingham is offering 50% or 100% tuition fee scholarships for innovative and passionate students from Africa, South Asia, and selected Commonwealth countries who can propose development solutions for their home countries.
Scholarship Details
Scholarship Type: Tuition fee scholarships (50% or 100%)
Eligibility: Full-time masters (including MRes) students for the 2025/26 academic year.
Deadline: Wednesday, 16 April 2025
This flagship scholarship, established in 2001, aims to support international students committed to making a difference in their home countries through key economic, environmental, social, structural, or political advancements.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, you must:
Be domiciled in Africa, India, or one of the selected Commonwealth countries.
Be classed as an overseas student for fee purposes.
Hold an offer for a full-time masters (including MRes) at the University of Nottingham UK in one of the following faculties:
Faculty of Engineering
Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences
Faculty of Science
Faculty of Social Sciences
Ineligible Applicants:
Current students or graduates of the University of Nottingham.
Individuals who have earned an undergraduate or postgraduate degree outside their home country.
Students currently studying in the UK.
Eligible Countries
Includes all nations in Africa, India, and other specified Commonwealth countries such as Bangladesh, Fiji, Jamaica, Malaysia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and more. See the full list on the official scholarship page.
Application Process
Apply for Admission: Secure an offer to study a full-time masters (including MRes) at Nottingham for the 2025/26 academic year.
Search courses and apply via the University of Nottingham application system.
Scholarship Application: Once you receive an offer, apply for the scholarship via NottinghamHub.
For MRes courses, email the scholarships team at scholarship-assistant@nottingham.ac.uk for application instructions.
Assessment Criteria
Applicants will be evaluated based on:
A clear vision and tangible plan for developing solutions to key challenges in their home countries.
Alignment between the proposed solution and the learning outcomes of their chosen course.
Academic merit and reasons for studying at Nottingham.
Important Notes
Scholarships are only awarded to students who accept their offer to study.
Awards are either 50% or 100% of tuition fees, deducted directly from your fees.
Scholarships cannot be combined with other competitive University scholarships.
