MPOWER Refugee Scholarship

  • Grand Prize: US$2,000 (1 award)

  • Honorable Mentions: US$1,000 (2 awards)

The MPOWER Refugee Scholarship is designed to support students who are fleeing difficult conditions from around the world and coming to the U.S. or Canada for a better future. This scholarship provides financial assistance to help students achieve their academic goals and create a brighter future.

Awards:

  • Grand Prize of US$2,000

  • Honorable Mentions of US$1,000 each

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be accepted at or enrolled in a full-time degree program at an MPOWER-supported school in the U.S. or Canada.

  • Be an international student allowed to legally study in the U.S. or Canada through one of the following criteria:

    • A refugee or asylee from any country (or pursuing such status).

    • Have Temporary Protected Status (TPS).

    • Be a beneficiary of Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) status.

  • You do not need to apply for a loan with MPOWER, but you are welcome to.

  • American and Canadian citizens/permanent residents and those with other immigration statuses are not eligible for this scholarship.
