GREAT Scholarships 2025-2026 for Universities in the UK by the British Council
TextThe GREAT Scholarships 2025-2026 offer students from 18 countries an opportunity to receive £10,000 towards their tuition fees for a wide range of one-year taught postgraduate courses in the UK.
Available Scholarships for the 2025-2026 Academic Year:
Over 200 scholarships offered by more than 70 universities across England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

Greece

Indonesia
Italy
Kenya
Malaysia
Mexico
Nigeria

Spain
Thailand
Turkey
Vietnam
Each country has a dedicated page where you can find a comprehensive list of universities offering scholarships, details of the eligible courses, and the application process.
The scholarships are jointly funded by the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign, the British Council, and participating UK higher education institutions.
As part of the programme, all GREAT scholars will:
Be invited to a welcome event in the first semester.
Attend a networking event in the second semester.
Terms and Conditions:
Scholarships are open only to passport holders and residents of the listed countries (for China, mainland passport holders and residents only).
The scholarship can only be used toward tuition fees.
UK higher education institutions must award the scholarships by 30 June 2025. Please note that application deadlines may vary for individual institutions.
The Study UK team must be informed of any other scholarships awarded to a GREAT scholar in the same academic year.
Profile of a GREAT Scholar:
GREAT scholars must meet the following criteria:
Be a citizen and resident of a GREAT target country.
Hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies for entry into a postgraduate programme at one of the participating UK universities.
Be academically capable and motivated to follow a postgraduate taught course.
Have relevant work experience or a proven interest in the proposed subject area.
Meet the English language requirements and other academic requirements of the UK higher education institution.
Be willing to engage fully with the UK higher education experience by attending lectures, participating in extracurricular activities, and promoting UK higher education as an ambassador.
Be committed to maintaining contact with the British Council and sharing experiences with future GREAT scholars.
Contribute to capacity-building and socio-economic advancement through the benefits gained after graduation.
