Equitech Scholars Program

Eligibility: Current undergraduates (any discipline), no older than 25 years on July 1, 2024

Overview:

The Equitech Scholars Program is an 8-week, fully-funded program designed for current undergraduates who are eager to learn how to leverage cutting-edge technology tools in data science and artificial intelligence to address societal challenges. This program offers individualized mentorship, interdisciplinary learning, and a close-knit community to help aspiring innovators build the skills, perspectives, and connections needed to advance their careers in technology, entrepreneurship, or public policy.

Curriculum Highlights:

The Equitech Scholars Program aims to develop skills in:

  • Data-driven problem-solving

You will learn to understand and apply knowledge in a way that goes beyond identification of problems, focusing on solution-driven thinking and clear communication of complex ideas.

Who Should Apply?

The program is for creative, motivated problem-solvers who:

  • Are enrolled in an undergraduate program (no older than 25 on July 1, 2024).

  • Can commit to 20-25 hours per week for the 8-week course.

  • Want to use their talents in the service of others.

We encourage applications from students of all disciplines and backgrounds, particularly women and individuals from underrepresented communities.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Current undergraduate students.

  • Must be no older than 25 years of age on July 1, 2024.

  • Available to commit 20-25 hours per week for 8 weeks of instruction.

Selection Process:

  • Application Deadline for 2025 Cohort: March 2025

  • Finalists for 2024 Cohort: Interview invitations sent by May 10, 2024

  • Admission Decisions for 2024 Cohort: By May 15, 2024

Tuition & Financial Aid:

  • Tuition Fee: US $7,600, but full tuition waivers are provided for each admitted student through the support of philanthropic partners.

  • The tuition includes:

    • 8 weeks of instruction.

    • Career support throughout 2024-2025.

    • Access to the Equitech Alumni Network.

Career Support:

The program offers career support, including faculty-written letters of recommendation for students who excel, and prepares you for careers in entrepreneurship, academia, or the social sector.

Regional Gatherings:

Though the program is fully online, alumni are invited to attend in-person retreats to collaborate on projects, network, and engage in interdisciplinary work.
