British Academy International Fellowship 2025-2027 Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (CRASSH) - University of Cambridge
TextThe Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (CRASSH) at the University of Cambridge is now accepting applications for the British Academy International Fellowship for the 2025-2027 cycle. This two-year fellowship initiative is designed to attract and retain emerging international talent to the UK, fostering a globally connected and mobile research workforce. The fellowship aims to support early career researchers in conducting high-quality, innovative research projects in the UK while also providing significant opportunities for career development.
Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Hold a PhD or be in the final stages of their PhD (PhD must be completed, including viva, before the Fellowship start date).
Have no more than seven years of active, full-time postdoctoral experience (excluding career breaks but including teaching or industry experience).
Be currently working outside the UK and not hold UK citizenship.
Be proficient in oral and written English.
Have a clear and mutually beneficial research proposal agreed upon with a UK host researcher.
Application Process via CRASSH: CRASSH welcomes applications for projects that are strongly interdisciplinary and may not easily fit into other departments, faculties, or centres at Cambridge. If your project aligns with this, you should justify why Cambridge and CRASSH are the ideal fit for your research proposal.
Please note that CRASSH receives a high number of applications, and due to limited workspace, only a small selection will be forwarded to the British Academy. If another department, faculty, or centre at Cambridge is a better fit for your project, you are encouraged to apply there. If successful, you will still be able to participate in CRASSH activities.
Required Application Materials:
A two-page CV, including the dates of your PhD viva and the award of your PhD.
A list of publications (maximum one page).
A completed internal selection form.
The name and contact details of one referee, preferably based in the UK, who is not your mentor or PhD supervisor.
Submission Details:
Applications should be emailed to Dr. Russell Re Manning, Deputy Centre Administrator, at rrm24@cam.ac.uk by 12:00 noon BST on Friday, 7 February 2025. This is the internal deadline for assessing and selecting applications for submission to the British Academy, which will likely have a mid-March 2025 deadline.
