AUA - Brempong Owusu-Antwi Scholarship Fund
TextThe Brempong Owusu-Antwi Scholarship was established by Judith Thomas, a significant donor to the Adventist Church, particularly for educational institutions, hospitals, evangelistic funds, and communication facilities. This scholarship is available annually to support needy but worthy students at the Adventist University of Africa (AUA).
Introduction:
The scholarship fund aims to assist deserving students facing financial challenges, enabling them to pursue their studies at AUA. The scholarship is available for students each year, with specific application deadlines and criteria for eligibility.
Scholarship Guidelines:
Purpose:
The Brempong Owusu-Antwi Scholarship Fund is designed to help needy, but worthy, students at AUA, especially those pursuing programs at the Theological Seminary and the School of Postgraduate Studies.Annual Distribution:
Each year, the scholarship will be divided equally (50% each) between the two schools.Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must be registered at AUA for at least one session before applying.
Students must have a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 3.0 at the time of application and are expected to maintain a CGPA of 3.0 or higher throughout their studies.
Students who are already receiving other AUA scholarships are not eligible for this scholarship.
Special consideration will be given to students from African countries with few or no students enrolled at AUA.
Required Documents:
Completed Application Form
Personal Statement: One-page statement that demonstrates the student's financial need.
Recommendation Letter: A letter of recommendation from an AUA faculty member, or alternatively, from the home union/conference, the employing organization, or the local church.
If employed by the church organization, the student must submit documentation from the employing organization to confirm they are self-sponsored.
Scholarship Award:
The scholarship will contribute half of the student's tuition and fees for one year and is renewable based on the student's continued eligibility and performance.Application Deadlines:
Applications must be submitted by January 31 or June 30 each year.Application Process:
Once the application form is completed, it should be submitted to scholarships@aua.ac.ke. After submission, the Scholarship Committee will review all applications and forward their recommendations to the University Management Board (UMB) for final approval or denial.Gratitude and Communication:
If awarded the scholarship, the recipient must write a letter of gratitude to the AUA Finance Office and post a positive message about AUA.
