About the Role:
The Underwriting Intern will collaborate with our experienced underwriting team to gain practical knowledge and hands-on experience in the insurance underwriting process. This internship offers exposure to various aspects of underwriting, risk assessment, and policy analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage in a comprehensive training program to understand the fundamentals of insurance underwriting.

• Participate in workshops, mentorship sessions, and on-the-job training to build technical and industry-specific skills.

• Assist in analyzing insurance policies to understand coverage, terms, and conditions.

• Learn how to assess risks associated with different insurance products.

• Gain proficiency in using data analysis tools to evaluate and interpret underwriting data.

• Assist in conducting research to support underwriting decisions.

• Maintain accurate underwriting records and documentation.

• Organize and manage underwriting files.

• Shadow and learn effective communication with clients, brokers, and internal teams.

• Develop written communication skills for creating underwriting reports and correspondence.

• Work closely with the underwriting team to understand the collaborative nature of underwriting in the insurance industry.

• Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions.

Requirements:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field.

• Strong interest in the insurance industry and a desire to pursue a career in underwriting.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
