Company Overview:
Jubilee Insurance, established in 1937, is the largest composite insurer in East Africa, providing Life, Pensions, General, and Medical Insurance. The company operates in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, and Mauritius and is ISO certified and listed on East African stock exchanges.

Role Purpose:
The Underwriting Intern will support the underwriting team at the branch level by assisting with the processing and data entry of new business applications, ensuring accuracy, compliance with underwriting guidelines, and seamless issuance of policies.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Data Capturing: Accurately input new business applications into the underwriting system, ensuring completeness and compliance.

  2. Underwriting Support: Assist in reviewing applications, conducting preliminary risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to policies.

  3. Documentation Management: Organize and secure client application records and documents.

  4. Customer Service: Address agent queries related to new business applications and resolve incomplete details.

  5. Reporting and Updates: Provide status updates on applications and prepare branch-level underwriting reports.

  6. Compliance: Ensure adherence to KYC, anti-money laundering, and regulatory requirements during the process.

Academic Background & Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.

  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  3. Knowledge of insurance principles (preferred but not mandatory).

  4. Strong passion for learning underwriting and life insurance.
