JOB SUMMARY:
The overall purpose of this role is to achieve business growth for the Bank by selling products and services to SMEs within assigned market segments, as well as promoting and selling other products and services to enhance value-added relationships with existing customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy (20%)
Support branches in increasing business in the allocated sectors and segments.
Implement the SME Banking strategy in line with the assigned sector/segment and aligned to the Bank’s overall strategy.
Acquisition: Business Development (35%)
Onboard new customers to grow the Bank's liabilities, assets, and NFI.
Service existing customers to continuously grow the Bank's liabilities, assets, and NFI.
Increase product usage and account activity among existing customers in the assigned portfolio.
Ensure continuous customer engagement and play a key role in product development relevant to the SME Banking sector.
Evaluate credit proposals and ensure timely processing of credit applications within the bank’s turnaround times.
Manage and expand relationships with existing SME banking clients and secure new partnerships for business growth.
Ensure continuous improvement in customer service and retention within the corporate banking framework.
Cross-sell, Retention & Servicing of Clients (25%)
Provide advice on financial solutions based on identified needs.
Resolve client queries promptly and escalate where necessary.
Match customer financial requirements with the Bank’s product offerings.
Grow the Bank’s wallet share in the SME banking sector within the designated portfolio/segment.
Ensure timely renewal of facilities such as overdrafts and avoid any limits expiring.
Communicate changes in the Bank’s services or products to clientele.
Maintain acceptable PAR (Portfolio at Risk) for facilities and ensure clients have active accounts.
Compliance (10%)
Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with risk and compliance units to mitigate business risks associated with corporate banking.
Talent Management (5%)
Ensure personal development and chart the career paths of team members.
Safeguard and promote the Bank’s image with the general public.
Other (5%)
Safeguard and promote the Bank’s image with the general public.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Strong organizing, planning, and analytical skills.
Problem analysis, decision-making, and monitoring skills.
Ability to work under pressure with emotional intelligence and a passion for performance.
Strong networking skills and customer focus.
