Position Summary
Rainforest Alliance seeks an impact-driven leader to oversee the Quality of Implementation operations in Africa and Europe. This role ensures effective collaboration across local teams and departments to deliver high-quality implementation of Rainforest Alliance offerings. The Senior Manager will address on-the-ground challenges and work closely with Assurance teams to uphold standards and rules in the region. The official title for this position is "Team Manager, Quality of Implementation," equivalent to a Senior Manager level.
Responsibilities
Represent the Africa & Europe Quality of Implementation team in internal and external meetings
Identify and lead the creation of contextualized policies, rules, procedures, and guides
Collaborate with regional teams to align with the Quality of Implementation leader's directives
Provide training and support on RA standards and Assurance Systems Rules to stakeholders
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to address reputational risk cases
Identify key sector or country-specific challenges and develop risk assessments and action plans
Lead consultation processes and gather stakeholder feedback on offerings and assurance systems
Periodically review operational risks in the region to ensure proper risk management
Supervise and mentor team members, addressing employee relations issues and professional development opportunities
Strengthen team capabilities and monitor performance against key indicators
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Degree in environmental or social sciences
Minimum of 7 years of experience in second- or third-party sustainability systems related to agriculture or forestry
At least 5 years of leadership experience managing diverse, multicultural teams
Fluency in English, with proficiency in French preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a time-sensitive manner
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with culturally and linguistically diverse individuals
Self-motivated, resourceful, and detail-oriented with a positive mindset
Demonstrated ability to visually communicate impacts effectively
