Senior Data Governance Specialist - ICEA Lion Group

Role Overview:
As the Senior Data Governance Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing and enforcing the data governance framework at ICEA Lion Group. Your role will ensure high-quality data management throughout the data lifecycle, supporting ethical data usage, and promoting data-driven decision-making. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, championing data stewardship and driving best practices to ensure data serves as a trusted asset for achieving business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the implementation of the data governance framework aligned with organizational strategy.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to establish policies, standards, and procedures supporting business objectives.

• Align data assets with strategic goals, closing data gaps to drive business efficiency.

• Conduct regular evaluations of data assets, identifying gaps and ensuring data supports decision-making.

• Enhance data quality through standards, training, and improvement initiatives.

• Oversee data organization, tracking, and documentation to improve accessibility and usability.

• Promote a culture of data excellence, engaging stakeholders and building capacity.

• Identify and deploy tools to strengthen data governance capabilities.

• Ensure compliance with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices.

• Lead efforts to overcome data challenges, ensuring data supports company growth and innovation.

Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, Business Administration, or related fields.

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, or Business Analytics (with a focus on data governance and strategy) is an advantage.

Certifications & Training:

• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)

• Data Governance and Stewardship Professional (DGSP)

• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

• GDPR/data privacy certifications (CIPP/E, CIPM, etc.)

• Specialized training in metadata management, data quality, and data lineage.

• Compliance and risk management courses (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

Experience:

• 5+ years in data governance, data management, or related fields (analytics or data quality).

• Experience in implementing data governance frameworks, including policy development, metadata management, and data quality initiatives.

• Knowledge of data governance tools and technologies.

• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Experience leading data projects or teams.

• Advanced proficiency in SQL and NoSQL, with hands-on experience creating complex queries and data transformations.
