SENIOR DATA ANALYST AT CIC

PURPOSE

The Senior Data Analyst will utilize Power BI to analyze, visualize, and interpret complex datasets, delivering actionable insights to support strategic decision-making. This role involves creating and maintaining dashboards, ensuring data accuracy, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive data-informed initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into actionable insights.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.

  2. Design and implement robust data models, visualizations, and dashboards to meet business needs.

  3. Cleanse, transform, and integrate data from multiple sources such as SQL Server, Azure Data Lake, and Excel.

  4. Collaborate with business leaders to understand and address reporting requirements.

  5. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders across departments.

  6. Act as a bridge between technical teams and business units to ensure alignment on data goals.

  7. Ensure data accuracy and reliability for analysis and reporting.

  8. Implement data governance practices, including security and access control measures.

  9. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations for data integrity and security.

  10. Optimize Power BI performance by following best practices in data modeling and report design.

  11. Stay updated on Power BI advancements and incorporate new features into reporting.

  12. Automate repetitive reporting tasks to improve efficiency.

  13. Mentor junior data analysts in best practices and advanced techniques.

  14. Lead efforts to standardize Power BI usage and reporting frameworks across the organization.

  15. Promote data-driven decision-making within the company.

KEY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND COMPETENCIES

Academic and Professional Requirements

  • Education:

    • Master’s/Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related fields.

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience.

Technical Skills and Competencies

  • Expertise in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.

  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases.

  • Familiarity with ETL tools and processes (e.g., SSIS, Alteryx).

  • Strong understanding of business intelligence and analytics concepts.

  • Predictive analytics or machine learning tools experience (preferred).

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services such as Azure Data Factory and Synapse (desirable).

Behavioral Competencies

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Effective project management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to convey technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
