Job Overview:
The Senior Coordinator for Program Implementation (SPCI) works closely with the Deputy Director of Programs (DDP) to implement high-quality, innovative programs. The role emphasizes effective program delivery, collaboration with internal teams, and strategic program integration. The SPCI will ensure smooth coordination across all IRC program locations, with a focus on outcomes, client responsiveness, and enhancing program impact.
Responsibilities:
Program Implementation
Track program deliverables via PIM dashboard.
Ensure adherence to donor and IRC policies.
Support program coordinators in procurement, financial management, and program progress.
Ensure integration of learning and feedback into program design and implementation.
Business Development
Support proposal development at the field level and ensure high-quality submissions.
Engage with stakeholders and donors to represent IRC Kenya in strategic discussions.
Partnerships
Contribute to local partner identification and onboarding.
Foster and manage strategic partnerships.
Support the partnership team in addressing program implementation challenges.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL)
Align assessments with program needs and contribute to analysis.
Enhance the use of Program Indicator Dashboards and ensure client accountability.
Staff Management and Development
Coach and mentor program staff, set clear expectations, and monitor staff welfare.
Promote IRC’s Global HR Operating Policies and safeguard policies.
Representation and Advocacy
Maintain relationships with stakeholders like local communities, donors, and government actors.
Support in organizing donor visits and maintaining smooth operations.
Country Program Management
Contribute to strategy development and stay updated on IRC’s priorities and policies.
Requirements:
Education: Master’s degree or equivalent in international development or related field.
Experience: At least 7 years in program management, including 5+ years in humanitarian and development work.
Skills:
Experience managing programs in health, WASH, or nutrition.
Staff supervision and capacity development experience.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Language: Fluency in English, with strong writing/editing skills.
Additional: Experience in a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) is preferred.
