Senior Business Development Advisor – Market Linkage - Nairobi (Business Growth Services - Nairobi) ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Inkomoko is seeking a Senior Business Development Advisor - Market Linkage to drive market linkages services for over 40,000 MSME clients. This role involves building strategic relationships with buyers across various sectors, including INGOs, public institutions, and private organizations. The BDA will identify opportunities and connect buyers with MSMEs. You will also support tender distribution services and help integrate MSMEs into formal value chains, focusing on micro and small-scale producers and facilitating product certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Buyer Engagement: Identify and cultivate relationships with buyers to expand sales opportunities for MSMEs, and facilitate connections between buyers and MSME clients.

  • Tender Distribution: Oversee the pilot tender distribution service, offering training and support for bid preparation and applications.

  • MSME Integration: Lead efforts to integrate MSMEs, especially micro and small-scale producers, into formal value chains, including helping MSMEs obtain product certifications from relevant government institutions.

  • Market Research: Manage market research activities, ensuring the team’s performance meets organizational standards while maintaining ethical guidelines.

  • Team Management: Provide leadership and mentorship to Business Associates and graduate trainees, enhancing their skills and ensuring service quality in market linkage services.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Programs Manager to align market linkages activities with overall Business Growth Services strategy, providing insights and recommendations to improve service delivery.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, market linkages, or MSME support.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with buyers.

  • Experience in providing market linkage services to MSMEs, including refugee-owned businesses.

  • Strong understanding of tender processes and bid preparation.

  • Sales experience is a plus.

  • Previous people management experience is preferred.
