Senior Business Developer at APA Insurance

Key Primary Responsibilities

  • Review and ensure compliance of policy documents and endorsements with the company’s underwriting manual.

  • Identify and refer insurance risks requiring reinsurance arrangements.

  • Address client enquiries and feedback within stipulated timelines as per service charter and/or SLAs.

  • Adhere to the cash and carry rule and the company's credit control policy, escalating exceptions when necessary.

  • Collaborate with the finance department to resolve reconciliation issues and follow up on claims.

  • Respond to internal and external audit queries, implementing recommendations as required.

  • Prepare quotations, policy documents, issue certificates, and cover notes.

  • Send renewal notices to clients and advise on any changes to policies.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal control processes.

  • Manage timely renewal invitations per the SLA.

  • Develop departmental budgets and business plans to meet company targets.

  • Participate in CSR and brand-building activities, in collaboration with other departments.

  • Train, coach, and mentor staff to improve departmental performance and cohesion.

  • Implement interdepartmental SLAs in collaboration with other departmental heads.

  • Attend and contribute to departmental meetings, projects, and committees as assigned.

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or a related field.

Professional Qualifications

  • ACII or Diploma in Insurance

Experience

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in the insurance sector.
