Job Summary: The Senior Audit Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and managing audit assignments in accordance with the Group Audit Plan and relevant policies, procedures, and quality standards. This role involves ensuring high-quality audit work, efficient use of resources, and effective audit delivery. The Senior Audit Manager will also mentor team members, contribute to business improvement, and engage with key stakeholders for the successful execution of audits.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit Delivery – Planning (20%)
Plan and manage the delivery of assigned audits ensuring high quality and adherence to KPIs.
Provide mentorship and guidance to auditors to ensure their work meets the required standards.
Engage with stakeholders to assess auditable entities and contribute to the annual audit planning process.
Audit Delivery – Fieldwork (20%)
Develop testing strategies for key controls within the business.
Manage and review the Design Effectiveness Testing (DEA) and Operational Effectiveness Testing (OET) processes.
Audit Delivery – Reporting (20%)
Lead the preparation and delivery of high-quality audit reports that identify key risks and provide actionable recommendations.
Ensure that audit findings are clearly communicated and supported by appropriate management action plans.
Management & Leadership (20%)
Mentor and coach less experienced team members, providing guidance on the methodology and audit process.
Support the leadership team in talent management, recruitment, and team development.
Knowledge Management & Risk (10%)
Improve technical knowledge through self-learning and training.
Share knowledge across the team and ensure audit activities comply with quality standards and methodology.
Manage risks and risk events within the audit function.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, Management Studies, or a related field.
Professional Qualification (ACCA, CIA, CISA, etc.) is required.
A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role within the financial services sector.
Experience in data analytics, audit software skills (e.g., ACL), and financial services industry knowledge.
Key Skills:
Strong understanding of risk-based auditing and regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
Proven leadership ability and the capacity to manage teams effectively.
High-level experience in building relationships with senior executives and managing competing initiatives.
