Job Purpose:
As a Scrum Master, you will act as an agile ambassador, championing the adoption of agile methodologies across the organization. You will facilitate agile practices such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives while working closely with the product owners and scrum teams to ensure successful agile delivery. Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate Agile Delivery: Lead the scrum team by managing the scrum process and coordinating efforts for effective and timely delivery.
Enhance Team Efficiency: Improve creativity, productivity, and efficiency within the agile team, ensuring the team operates at its highest potential.
Coach the Team: Guide the team to be self-organizing, identify gaps in the agile framework, and help the team mature through continuous coaching.
Promote Agile Practices: Advocate for the adoption and benefits of agile methodologies throughout the organization, particularly in digital products and innovation.
Remove Impediments: Act as a barrier remover to ensure the team can focus on delivering high-quality products.
Lead Scrum Events: Facilitate key agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, sprint retrospectives, demos, and decision-making meetings.
Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with product owners to manage the product backlog and ensure the team is ready for the next sprint.
Champion Product Deployment: Ensure the product is successfully deployed by the technology team, and the first transaction is performed successfully.
Continuous Improvement: Plan for technical debt, provide feedback, and incorporate continuous learning and improvement in team practices.
Provide Regular Updates: Report team progress, performance, and other relevant metrics to senior management.
Lead User Experience Design: Lead and facilitate user experience design, ideation, and the incubation of MVPs.
Foster a Safe and Trusting Environment: Ensure a safe environment where team members feel free to express themselves and improve continuously.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:
Education: An IT-related Bachelor’s degree or Business-related degree with relevant IT qualifications and a strong background in project management, designing, and testing.
Experience: 2-3 years of active experience as a Scrum Master in a busy software development team.
Certifications: Certified Scrum Master with practical experience or experience working in a Scrum Framework is preferred.
Agile Knowledge: Familiarity with Lean/Agile principles and agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming (XP), and Feature Driven Development (FDD).
Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of software development processes, iterative development, service-oriented environments, and Agile practices.
Coaching Ability: Strong coaching skills with a continuous improvement mindset, able to lead teams and demonstrate value-driven principles.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate issues clearly and provide solutions to both business and technical stakeholders.

Co-operative Bank
The Co-operative Bank of Kenya Limited is incorporated in Kenya under the Company Act and is also licensed to do the business of banking under the Banking Act. The Bank was initially registered under the Co-operative Societies Act at the point of founding in 1965. This status was retained up to and until June 27th 2008 when the Bank's Special General Meeting resolved to incorporate under the Companies Act with a view to complying with the requirements for listing on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE). The Bank went public and was listed on December 22nd 2008. Shares previously held by the 3,805 Co-operatives Societies and unions were ring-fenced under CoopHoldings Co-operative Society Limited which became the strategic investor in the Bank with a 64.56% stake. The Bank runs three subsidiary companies, namely: Kingdom Securities Limited, a stockbroking firm with the bank holding a controlling 60% stake; Co-opTrust Investment Services Limited, the fund management subsidiary wholly-owned by the bank; and Co-op Consultancy & Insurance Agency Limited (CCIA), the corporate finance, financial advisory and capacity-building subsidiary wholly-owned by the bank.
