Retirement Benefits Advisor

Job Purpose
The Retirement Benefits Advisor is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding new business in the Retirement Benefits Department, focusing on CIC Jipange Plus Personal Retirement Scheme and CIC Umbrella Retirement Scheme. The goal is to meet the set annual budgets by strategically developing assigned markets and intermediary channels.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage pension distribution channels to meet set objectives.

  • Ensure growth in pension business through new acquisitions of Umbrella Schemes, individual pension plans, and NSSF Tier II contracting in line with set targets.

  • Strengthen leadership of the Retirement Benefit Advisors (R.B.A) team through recruitment and retention of high-caliber advisors.

  • Drive team performance by staying updated on market competition, industry practices, and best practices to improve business performance.

  • Build and maintain relationships with administrators, schemes, and intermediaries.

  • Lead the R.B.A team to align with business goals, including periodic sales performance reporting and monitoring P&L.

  • Ensure timely completion of performance appraisals.

  • Implement best practices in Client Relationship Management to meet business goals.

  • Manage an efficient sales and service cycle to drive business for retirement benefits distribution channels.

  • Create account service plans involving client/intermediary visits, policy documentation, credit control, claims management, and SLAs.

  • Gather feedback from channels to identify new business opportunities and benchmark market prices.

  • Ensure accurate, timely business reports are generated and compiled for management review.

  • Monitor competitor activity and identify opportunities or threats arising from such activities.

  • Perform any other relevant duties as assigned.

Key Skills, Knowledge, Experience, and Behavioural Competencies

  • Education:

    • Diploma in a business-related field or Certificate in a relevant professional field

  • Experience Required:

    • Up to 2 years of relevant experience

  • Qualifications & Skills:

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills

    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

    • Excellent interpersonal and customer care skills

    • Computer literate in MS Office and other office applications
