Job Overview:
The Regional Safety and Security Director (RSSD) for Asia will be responsible for overseeing and supervising security risk management, humanitarian access, and incident response across IRC country programs in Asia. The role involves advising senior leadership on security strategies and managing risks to enable safe operations and program continuity. The RSSD will mentor country teams, ensuring security procedures and humanitarian access protocols are well implemented.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the identification and mitigation of security risks in the region.
Advise on safety and security procedures that integrate Gender Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (GEDI) principles.
Support the development of humanitarian access guidelines, and ensure secure, principled access to humanitarian aid.
Mentor staff and develop security capacity-building initiatives.
Manage incidents and support country teams in responding to security breaches.
Maintain close collaboration with global and regional security teams, contributing to strategic security operations.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of experience in international humanitarian programs, with expertise in security management.
In-depth knowledge of the region’s security dynamics.
Proven track record of managing security risks and incidents.
Strong mentoring and team management skills.
Proficiency in English; the ability to travel frequently (approximately 40%).
