About the Client – InMySteps Foundation
InMySteps Foundation, an initiative created in 2021 by Rise & Learn Global, supports young people emerging from tertiary training to access opportunities for career development, mentorship, and leadership growth. The foundation offers a comprehensive program that includes training, career coaching, mentorship, placement opportunities, and continuous personal development.

Position Summary
Reporting to the InMySteps Project Coordinator, the Project Intern will play an instrumental role in managing the end-to-end process of internship recruitment, training, monitoring progress, and facilitating the placement of interns. The role also involves coordinating stakeholders, managing events, supporting system development, and providing feedback on software functionality. The successful candidate will have a passion for youth development and a commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Internship Program Management

    • Coordinate the recruitment process and shortlist interns based on client organization needs.

    • Organize and oversee training programs for interns.

    • Track interns' progress and ensure alignment with development goals.

    • Support the placement of interns into suitable roles within partnering organizations.

    • Coordinate mentor matching sessions and track mentorship progress.

  2. Stakeholder Communication & Coordination

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders, including trainers, mentors, partners, and suppliers.

    • Communicate updates and progress with internal and external teams.

    • Cultivate positive relationships with stakeholders for smooth collaboration.

  3. Event Management

    • Coordinate and manage events, including annual and anniversary events for the InMySteps Foundation.

    • Manage logistics, scheduling, and event coordination to ensure successful execution.

    • Engage stakeholders to plan events that align with the foundation’s goals.

  4. System Support and Promotion

    • Support the development and maintenance of the foundation’s database system.

    • Ensure all intern and partner data is well organized and accessible.

    • Provide feedback on system improvements to streamline workflows.

    • Demonstrate the software to stakeholders and offer technical support.

    • Act as a tester to identify and resolve software issues.

  5. Mentor Training & Coordination

    • Assist in the training of mentors and ensure they are equipped to support interns effectively.

    • Gather feedback to continuously improve mentorship quality.

  6. Partner Outreach & Relationship Building

    • Assist in identifying and reaching out to new organizational partners for internship placements.

    • Build relationships with organizations to secure new internship opportunities.

  7. General Administration

    • Perform administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings and preparing reports.

    • Ensure the smooth operation of the project by addressing challenges promptly.

    • Maintain accurate records of project activities and communications.

  8. Supplier Management

    • Oversee procurement of products and services for the project.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Degree in Information Technology or a related field from a recognized university.

  • Experience: Training in InMySteps graduate skills is desirable.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly.

  • Basic knowledge of Java, React/TypeScript, and databases.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Zoom, and Google Workspace.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Problem-solving abilities.

  • High levels of ownership and commitment.

Work Environment

  • On-site work model.
