OVERVIEW

Our client, an agricultural enterprise in Naivasha, is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee the cultivation of castor beans. The role involves managing farm workers, machine operators, and ensuring quality control aligned with agricultural best practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Crop Management: Direct planting, cultivation, irrigation, and pest control efforts for optimal crop health and yield.
Team Leadership: Lead and train farm workers, tractor operators, and machine operators in efficient farming and safety practices.
Quality Control: Ensure produce quality meets standards for market sale and processing.
Machinery Maintenance: Maintain machinery and tools, ensuring proper use and regular servicing.
Resource Management: Manage resources such as seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides to maximize cost-efficiency.
Documentation: Document farm activities, crop health, and yields; report findings to management.
Budget Management: Operate within budget for labor, machinery, and inputs to minimize costs.
Health & Safety Compliance: Implement health and safety protocols and ensure compliance with agricultural regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: At least 4 years of experience as a Production Supervisor in crop cultivation, ideally in castor beans or potatoes.
Skills:
- Experience in supervising farm laborers and operators with a focus on productivity.
- Knowledge of crop rotation, irrigation, and pest control methods.
- Ability to ensure produce meets quality standards for sale and storage.
- Understanding of farm machinery maintenance and efficient usage.
- Proficiency in documenting farm processes, crop health, and resource allocation.
- Experience in managing budgets and controlling production costs.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
