Procurement Manager

The Procurement Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations in manufacturing by managing procurement activities effectively. This includes acquiring raw materials and supplies at the right time, ensuring cost efficiency, maintaining optimal inventory, and fostering long-term supplier relationships. The role is pivotal to achieving synchronized workflows across production, sales, and inventory while minimizing risks and supporting business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Demand Forecasting: Accurately predict and plan the procurement of resources to meet production timelines and cost goals.
Contingency Planning: Anticipate and manage disruptions caused by supplier delays, price fluctuations, or currency changes.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with Finance, Inventory, and Sales teams to maintain synchronized cash flow, raw material availability, and inventory optimization for seamless production.
Policy Development: Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for sales and operations planning that align with procurement strategies.
Procurement Oversight: Oversee end-to-end procurement processes, ensuring adherence to organizational policies, ethical practices, and industry regulations.
Sourcing and Supplier Relations: Evaluate and select reliable local and international suppliers. Negotiate favorable terms and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Machinery and Maintenance Procurement: Ensure the timely acquisition of spare parts for machinery and maintain appropriate stock levels.
Risk Management: Address discrepancies, resolve supplier conflicts, and implement measures to safeguard organizational interests.
Market Monitoring: Track market trends and provide insights into material costs to support strategic decision-making.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience: Proven expertise in procurement within the manufacturing sector, particularly in ceramics, tiles, or related industries.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems, procurement software, and market analysis.
Negotiation & Leadership: Strong negotiation skills, ability to manage supplier contracts, and demonstrated experience leading teams.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with industry regulations, compliance standards, and quality assurance practices.
Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and cross-departmental collaboration abilities.
