Principal Gifts Officer - Rainforest Alliance

Overview:
The Rainforest Alliance is seeking a Principal Gifts Officer to drive their fundraising efforts and advance the mission of environmental conservation. This role involves engaging and soliciting high-net-worth individual donors, managing a portfolio of prospects, and securing principal gifts of $500,000+ to support the Alliance’s Vision 2030 strategy. The officer will work closely with the CEO, CDO, Senior Director of Individual Giving, and the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects, focusing on cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts.

  • Prepare donor briefings and reports, utilizing donor database and wealth screening tools (e.g., Salesforce).

  • Provide analysis and reports to the team, ensuring accurate revenue projections.

  • Collaborate with leadership and team members to meet fundraising goals and advance strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of experience in fundraising, with a strong background in securing principal gifts.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage high-net-worth donor relationships.

  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Experience in an international or environmental conservation setting is a plus.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and development software, ideally Salesforce.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary range: $130,000 to $150,000 annually.

  • Comprehensive benefits package with an emphasis on staff well-being and development.
