TextLocation: Remote (Open to Candidates in New York, NY; Nairobi, Kenya; London, UK)
Salary Range: $73,000 - $88,000 per year
Job Type: Full-Time
Employee Category: Regular
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is dedicated to responding to the world’s most pressing humanitarian crises, providing health, safety, education, and economic support to people devastated by conflict and disaster. As one of the largest international humanitarian organizations, IRC operates in over 40 countries and 29 U.S. cities, helping people rebuild their lives and reclaim control over their futures. IRC is looking for a Pricing Advisor to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in shaping critical funding proposals for life-changing humanitarian aid programs across the globe.
As a Pricing Advisor, you will be at the heart of IRC’s business development efforts, working alongside our dedicated teams to develop strategic, compliant, and competitive budgets for major funding opportunities. This is a high-impact role, responsible for leading the pricing strategy and budget development for several of IRC's largest public funding initiatives, including grants and contracts with key donors such as USAID, FCDO, World Bank, GAVI, and the EU.
Key Responsibilities:
Capture & Program Design: As the lead for pricing in IRC’s proposal teams, you will conduct extensive research and evaluate cost drivers for each country-specific opportunity. You will ensure that we develop cost proposals that align with donor requirements and reflect the real costs of program interventions.
Pricing Strategy & Budget Development: You will lead the budget development process, ensuring all cost-related considerations are addressed. This includes reviewing solicitations, identifying key financial and commercial risks, and developing tailored mitigation strategies. You’ll also ensure that pricing inputs from IRC country offices, technical units, and partners are seamlessly integrated into the final proposal.
Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Provide expert guidance on financial regulations and risk management strategies to ensure that all proposals comply with both IRC and donor policies. This involves developing cost proposals that are competitive, compliant, and mitigate any potential financial risks.
Strategic Capacity Building: As an expert in donor pricing, you will contribute to IRC’s broader organizational initiatives to improve pricing strategies. You’ll help design and implement pricing tools, templates, and capacity-building initiatives aimed at strengthening IRC’s pricing capabilities across the board.
Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate with IRC’s country offices, finance department, and technical teams to ensure the successful development and submission of funding proposals. You’ll also engage with external partners to incorporate their pricing inputs and deliver cohesive, well-structured budgets.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience: Proven experience in developing cost proposals for large grants and contracts, with a focus on complex budgeting, risk analysis, and compliance. Experience with Payment by Results approaches and fee rate structures is highly desirable.
Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of financial rules and regulations for key donors, including USG, FCDO, and the EU. You should be able to identify donor-specific risks and design cost proposals that mitigate these risks effectively.
Skills: Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage complex, multi-layered budgets under tight deadlines. You should also have excellent communication skills, able to present complex financial information in a clear, concise manner to a diverse audience.
Languages: Proficiency in written and spoken English is required. Fluency in French, Spanish, or Arabic is a plus.
Travel: This role requires the ability to travel internationally (up to 20% of the time).
