Placement Programme for Intern Medical Doctors - Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Mater

Location: Mater Misericordiae Hospital, Kenya
Position: Medical Officer Intern (4 positions available)
Start Date: 2025 Intake

About Mater Misericordiae Hospital
Mater Misericordiae Hospital is accredited by the Medical Practitioners & Dentists Board to offer placements for newly qualified doctors during their Internship year. The hospital provides an ideal setting for medical interns to gain hands-on experience and grow in their medical careers through comprehensive training and mentorship.

Position Overview
The hospital is currently seeking four (4) Medical Officer Interns for the 2025 intake. Interns will rotate through the Obstetrics & Gynaecology department, receiving valuable practical exposure to women’s health care, including maternal care, childbirth, and gynecological services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical support and medical care under supervision in the Obstetrics & Gynaecology department.

  • Assist in the delivery of care to pregnant women, newborns, and patients with gynecological conditions.

  • Participate in routine examinations, procedures, and surgeries as part of the team.

  • Assist in antenatal, postnatal, and gynecological consultations.

  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for patients, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accessible.

  • Engage in departmental meetings and training sessions to enhance medical knowledge and skills.

Requirements

  • A Medical Degree from a recognized institution.

  • Registration with the Medical Practitioners & Dentists Board of Kenya.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

  • A strong interest in obstetrics, gynecology, and women’s health care.

  • Ability to adapt to the fast-paced and dynamic nature of clinical rotations.
