People and Culture Manager at Palladium: USAID Kenya Private Sector Activity

Project Overview and Role:
The USAID Feed the Future Kenya Private Sector Activity (KPSA) is a $48 million project funded by USAID and implemented by Palladium. KPSA aims to foster inclusive economic growth in Kenya by partnering with agricultural, health, and other sectors. The project will create jobs, increase exports, and improve healthcare access between 2024 and 2029.
The People and Culture Manager will oversee all aspects of human resources, from recruitment to exit, ensuring smooth HR operations across the employee lifecycle.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement HR policies aligned with Palladium’s global and Kenya-specific practices.
Conduct HR interviews, manage offer negotiations, and close positions.
Oversee the entire employee lifecycle, including onboarding, induction, performance management, transfers, contract renewals, and exit procedures.
Lead performance management initiatives.
Organize and spearhead team bonding activities.
Ensure legal compliance in all HR practices.
Maintain pay plans and employee benefits programs.
Organize and manage employee files and databases.
Work on improving HR processes.
Support employer branding initiatives to make Palladium the employer of choice.
Collaborate with global teams and the project management unit on key projects such as diversity and inclusion, salary benchmarking, etc.
Foster a positive work environment and culture.
Perform other project-related tasks as required by the Chief of Party and project leadership.
Position Requirements:
Degree in Human Resources or a related field.
Minimum of seven (7) years of experience managing human resources functions in Kenyan project contexts.
Experience in formulating and executing HR strategies that align with project goals.
Prior experience with USAID or other donor-funded programs is preferred.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Preference for Kenyan candidates.
Proficiency in written and oral English.
