Nurse In-Charge at AAR Healthcare Kenya

Overall Purpose of the Job

Reporting to the Health Centre Manager, the Nurse In-Charge is responsible for supervising and managing the nursing unit and overseeing operations within the assigned Outpatient Centre to ensure effective treatment outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Medicine Administration and Clinical Procedures:

   • Administer medication and perform minor clinical procedures.

2. Inventory Management:

   • Manage and monitor inventory levels within the Outpatient Centre.

3. Maternal and Child Healthcare Services:

   • Provide maternal and child healthcare services to patients.

4. Patient Triage:

   • Conduct patient triaging to ensure efficient and effective care.

5. Standard Operating Procedures Compliance:

   • Ensure adherence to SOPs regarding triage and nursing procedures.

6. Quality Reporting:

   • Prepare and submit quality reports as required by internal and external stakeholders.

7. Infection Prevention and Control:

   • Coordinate the implementation of the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) program.

8. Staff Rota Management:

   • Manage and oversee the staff rota for the nursing team to ensure adequate coverage.

Position Requirements

Education:

• Diploma in Nursing (mandatory).

• A degree in Nursing is an added advantage.

• Must hold a valid registration certificate from the Nursing Council of Kenya.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a practicing nurse.

Skills and Attributes:

• Proficiency in ICT.

• Strong customer service skills.

• Self-motivated and a collaborative team player.

• Proven analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
