VERVIEW
The Information Technology Manager is a key role within NCBA Insurance Company, responsible for overseeing the IT department’s daily operations, managing IT projects, and ensuring the company’s technological infrastructure aligns with and supports its strategic objectives. This role is vital to ensuring smooth operations, system integration, and the continuous development of IT capabilities that will propel the company's success in the insurance industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
IT Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day management of the IT department, ensuring the smooth running of all systems, networks, and IT infrastructure.
Project Management: Manage and prioritize IT projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of technology solutions that align with the company’s business objectives.
Infrastructure Support: Ensure the organization’s IT infrastructure is robust, secure, and scalable, capable of meeting the growing demands of the business.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the IT team, ensuring they have the necessary skills, resources, and motivation to perform effectively.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers, ensuring quality service delivery and cost-effectiveness.
Cybersecurity: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security protocols to safeguard the company’s data, systems, and applications from internal and external threats.
System Integration & Upgrades: Ensure that all IT systems are integrated seamlessly, performing upgrades, migrations, and troubleshooting as needed.
Innovation & Strategy: Contribute to the development and implementation of IT strategies and plans that drive operational efficiency, improve customer experience, and support business growth.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments and leadership to understand business needs and translate them into effective technology solutions.
Compliance & Documentation: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and maintain comprehensive records and documentation for all IT processes and systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management or a similar leadership role.
Strong understanding of networking, databases, software development, and system integration.
Proven track record of managing IT projects from initiation to completion.
Experience in vendor management and negotiating IT service contracts.
Expertise in cybersecurity practices and securing IT systems.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with all levels of the organization.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP), ITIL, or relevant IT disciplines.
Experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
Strong knowledge of cloud technologies and emerging IT trends.
