OVERVIEW
The Mombasa Branch Manager/Senior Underwriter plays a key role in developing, retaining, and expanding business relationships with all producer channels within the Mombasa Branch. This position involves managing relationships to ensure that service levels exceed customer expectations across all products and services, as well as developing sales plans for producers to recommend and promote company products and services based on their channel needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development: Develop and execute strategies to expand the business within the Mombasa Branch by fostering relationships with producers and channel partners.
Relationship Management: Manage and grow business relationships with existing clients and partners, ensuring service delivery aligns with customer expectations.
Sales Strategy: Create and implement sales plans for producers to recommend and promote NCBA鈥檚 products and services, customizing the approach to suit the needs of different channels.
Underwriting: Lead underwriting processes, evaluating risks and ensuring that policies are aligned with the company鈥檚 guidelines and standards.
Customer Service Excellence: Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing customer needs, resolving complaints, and continuously improving service delivery.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor and assess the performance of producers, ensuring targets are met, and take corrective action when necessary.
Product Knowledge: Provide guidance and training to producers and the team on NCBA products and services to enhance their ability to effectively promote and sell.
Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the branch team to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service.
Reporting & Analysis: Track and report on business performance, including underwriting activities, sales performance, and customer satisfaction. Provide regular reports to the Head of Distribution & Marketing.
Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with regulatory and internal policies, maintaining high standards of ethics and professionalism.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in branch management, underwriting, or sales within the financial services or insurance industry.
Strong understanding of underwriting processes and risk assessment.
Proven track record in business development and relationship management, with the ability to drive sales and exceed targets.
Excellent customer service skills, with a commitment to ensuring client satisfaction.
Ability to lead and motivate a team, providing direction and support as needed.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
In-depth knowledge of NCBA鈥檚 products and services.
Preferred:
Professional certifications in underwriting, insurance, or related fields.
Experience managing sales teams and producer channels within the Mombasa region.
Knowledge of local market dynamics and customer preferences in Mombasa.
