Position Summary
Rainforest Alliance seeks an experienced Manager, Contingent Workforce Management to lead the organization's contingent workforce strategy on a global scale. This role involves overseeing temporary staff, contractors, freelancers, and third-party vendors, ensuring alignment with organizational capability and skill requirements while maintaining flexibility, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. Reporting to the Talent Lead, this position is part of the Global HR team committed to Rainforest Alliance's mission and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a strategic plan for contingent workforce management aligned with organizational goals.
Collaborate with senior leadership and HR teams to understand workforce needs and plan external talent acquisition.
Establish and communicate policies and procedures for contingent workforce management.
Manage sourcing, onboarding, training, performance tracking, and offboarding of contingent workers.
Evaluate and maintain relationships with staffing agencies and freelance platforms, ensuring favorable terms.
Monitor and assess vendor performance, addressing gaps through corrective action plans.
Balance the organization’s full-time employee capacity with external talent requirements to optimize usage.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and organizational policies, mitigating risks with governance structures.
Partner with compliance and legal teams to establish best practices for managing external talent.
Collaborate with finance to track expenses and ensure efficient utilization of external talent.
Provide regular reporting on workforce costs, vendor expenses, and staffing efficiency to senior management.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
At least 5 years of experience managing contingent workforce programs, including vendor management and contract negotiation.
Strong knowledge of contingent workforce management, including temporary staffing, contract labor, and third-party vendor processes.
Proficiency in workforce management tools and compliance with local and international labor laws.
Excellent vendor management and negotiation skills.
Strong project management and communication skills with the ability to handle multiple programs simultaneously.
Analytical skills for assessing workforce data and making strategic decisions.
High integrity, professionalism, and a proactive, collaborative approach.
Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).
Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Salary(for USA-based candidates):
National (Excluding NY and DC): $63,655 - $90,906
New York Range: $75,605 - $108,007
Washington, DC Range: $73,180 - $104,542
