Laboratory In-Charge at AAR Healthcare Kenya

Overall Purpose of the Job

Reporting to the Health Centre Manager, the Laboratory In-Charge will perform and oversee laboratory-based scientific medical investigations to provide accurate laboratory diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Results Generation:

   • Ensure accurate and high-quality test results are produced for all laboratory investigations.

2. Staff Supervision:

   • Supervise laboratory staff to ensure efficient operations and adherence to best practices.

3. Compliance with SOPs:

   • Ensure laboratory staff comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs) in all activities.

4. Sample Management:

   • Register, collect, and process client samples within the defined scope of specific tests.

5. Results Communication:

   • Communicate laboratory results to both internal and external customers in a clear and professional manner.

6. Maintain Laboratory Standards:

   • Ensure high laboratory practice standards through the use of proper reagents, calibrated machines, and a clean working environment.

7. Report Preparation:

   • Prepare accurate laboratory reports for internal and external stakeholders.

8. Quality Control Participation:

   • Participate in internal quality control programs to ensure the continued accuracy and reliability of results.

Position Requirements

Education:

• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science

• Degree/Masters in Medical Laboratory Science is an added advantage.

Experience:

• At least 2 years of appropriate experience in managing laboratory staff and operations.

Licensing:

• Must have a registration certificate from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technician and Technologist Board.

• Self-motivated and a strong team player

• Ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality

• Research experience is an added advantage
