Job Description
The Senior Relationship Manager, Islamic Banking will deputize the Head of Islamic Banking and play a crucial role in delivering business growth targets, including revenue, fees, commissions, profit before tax, assets, liabilities, and customer numbers. This role requires strong relationship management with existing and new customers while maintaining operational controls, risk management, and governance within the Islamic Banking sector of Retail Banking.
Key Responsibilities:
Deputize the Head of Islamic Banking and help deliver on annual business growth targets across various metrics.
Manage and develop relationships with both existing and new Islamic Banking customers.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key banking stakeholders.
Customer Service Management: Handle inquiries, complaints, and ensure their resolution within set standards.
Portfolio Management: Manage Portfolio at Risk (PAR) for Islamic Banking customers and work towards business growth targets.
Ensure timely turnaround on credit applications within the Islamic Banking segment.
Maintain operational costs within approved budgets for the Islamic Banking sector.
Oversee monitoring, controls, business continuity, and risk management in the Islamic Banking segment.
Support business growth initiatives including assets, liabilities, customer numbers, revenue, and profitability in the Islamic Banking segment.
Work Experience:
Minimum 7 years’ relevant experience in corporate banking, banking operations, or customer service, with at least 2 years in Relationship Management.
Proven track record of achieving business growth and profitability targets in the banking or financial services sector.
Good understanding of the banking industry, market trends, and associated challenges.
Strong skills in people management, relationship management, networking, and negotiation.
In-depth understanding of corporate governance, banking operations, and statutory/regulatory requirements.
Excellent customer and client-focused innovation skills, meeting both internal and external customer demands.
Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
Creative, innovative, and able to think strategically to develop solutions.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Some knowledge of the Bank’s lending principles, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications & Certifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
Professional certifications such as AKIB/CIB, CPA(K), or ACCA are an added advantage.
Master’s degree in a business-related field is a plus.
Professional qualifications in sales/marketing or insurance qualifications from IIK or ACII are beneficial.
