OVERVIEW

Summit Recruitment and Search is hiring a Junior Accountant for a multinational security solutions provider based in Nairobi, Kenya. The successful candidate will be responsible for verifying the accuracy of financial data, ensuring financial records comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and supporting key financial processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual seeking to develop their career in accounting within a dynamic, multinational environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recording Financial Transactions: Properly record accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, operating expenses, and insurance records.

  • Expenditure Monitoring: Review and monitor company expenditure to ensure finances are applied correctly.

  • Data Entry: Enter financial data such as accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and interdepartmental entries into the ledger monthly.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with Financial Reporting Standards and assist with financial audits.

  • Forecasting & Budgeting: Work closely with the finance team to prepare forecasts and budgets.

  • Variance Analysis: Extract and analyze variance between budget/quotation and actual job costs.

  • Tax & Statutory Payments: Help process and submit tax and statutory payments.

  • Reconciliations: Review reconciliations for bank transactions, petty cash, and credit card payments.

  • Audit Support: Provide support for audits, budgeting, and financial reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or a related field.

  • CPA Qualification is required.

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience.

  • Proficiency in using financial software and tools.

  • Strong integrity, interpersonal skills, and hands-on approach to work.
