Investment Analyst – Nairobi at Summit Recruitment

Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: KES 350,000 per month (depending on experience and qualifications)

OVERVIEW

Our client, a diversified investment holding company operating across East and Southern Africa, is seeking an Investment Analyst. The company invests in key sectors such as Renewables, Properties, Services, Gold, and Ag, Food & Forestry. The role involves analyzing new projects, investments, and deals, providing vital financial insights to support senior management and the board.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reporting: Monthly reporting and analysis for Senior Management and quarterly reporting for the Board.

  • Valuation: Conduct biannual valuations of the Company’s portfolio.

  • Project Appraisal: Appraise new projects, investments, and deals, assessing their financial viability.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Aggregate group budgets and forecasts to provide an overview of financial performance.

  • Fundraising & Exits: Support fundraising activities and manage investment exits.

  • Market Research & Deal Origination: Conduct market research to identify and originate new deals.

  • Investor Relations: Track investor relations and communication.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent.

  • Professional Qualification: CFA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred.

  • Experience: 3-7 years’ experience in a similar role.

  • Skills:

    • Financial modelling expertise.

    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

    • Strong writing and presentation skills.

    • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on integrity.

    • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.

    • Self-confident, conscientious, and flexible to take on new challenges.
