OVERVIEW

A leading provider of sustainable energy solutions in Nairobi, Kenya, specializing in renewable power systems and energy efficiency services, is seeking a HR Officer. The HR Officer will be responsible for developing and managing all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training, employee relations, and compliance. This role will be key to fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and growth as the company expands its operations locally and regionally.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruitment: Develop and implement recruitment strategies, manage the hiring process, and oversee smooth onboarding.

  • Collaboration & Team Building: Foster innovation and collaboration through surveys, workshops, and team-building activities.

  • Performance Management: Implement performance management systems, conduct reviews, and create training programs aligned with career growth.

  • Training & Development: Identify skill gaps, upskill employees, and ensure compliance with Kenyan labor laws and statutory deductions.

  • Employee Records & Compliance: Maintain accurate employee records, benefits, and contracts using platforms like SenseHR.

  • HR Policies: Create HR policies and handbooks in line with industry best practices and conduct market benchmarking for competitive compensation.

  • Payroll & Benefits: Oversee payroll, benefits, and wellness programs, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

  • Workforce Planning: Develop HR strategies for workforce and succession planning, while advising leadership on talent retention.

  • Diversity & Inclusion: Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in alignment with company values.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Certification: Professional HR certification (e.g., CHRP, SHRM, CIPD) is highly preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of HR management experience, preferably in a growth-stage company.

  • HR Platforms: Experience with HR platforms like SenseHR or similar systems is an advantage.

  • Labour Law Knowledge: Strong understanding of Kenyan labor laws and statutory requirements.
