Job Overview:
The Finance Director will oversee financial management and operations for the FCDO Empowering Survivors of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Sexual Harassment (ES-SEAH) program. The role includes developing financial systems, ensuring compliance with IRC and FCDO policies, and managing financial reporting for the project. The Finance Director will partner with senior management to ensure the project’s financial health, compliance with legal requirements, and efficient budget management.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure financial activities comply with IRC and FCDO policies.
Establish and implement financial systems, processes, and reporting for the project.
Prepare financial reports, including accruals, expenditure, and burn rate projections.
Provide monthly budget-to-actual reports and assist in budget planning.
Monitor and enforce internal control policies and legal compliance.
Supervise and train finance staff, providing performance feedback.
Manage bank relations, cash transfers, and forecasts for future project spending.
Assist in the preparation of project budgets, ensuring alignment with actual expenditure.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance; CPA or master’s degree preferred.
Experience: At least 10 years in financial management, particularly with $7 million+ FCDO or Institutional Donor projects.
Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting practices, financial reporting, and project budgeting; experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel; excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
