Job Overview:

The Employee Engagement Advisor will be responsible for implementing strategies that leverage staff voices to improve employee experience and foster a culture of equity, belonging, and inclusion in line with IRC’s Core Values. The advisor will collaborate with leadership to create and implement action plans based on employee feedback and manage projects related to engagement, communication, and diversity initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Employee Experience and the GEDI Director to enhance employee engagement and belonging.

  • Manage communication channels for staff feedback, such as surveys and focus groups, to ensure diverse employee voices influence decisions.

  • Develop and implement action plans based on employee feedback, adjusting to achieve outcomes.

  • Promote cultural moments and internal campaigns to enhance the Employee Value Proposition.

  • Collaborate with internal communications to showcase employee stories and celebrate diverse backgrounds.

  • Regularly monitor, analyze, and report on employee engagement metrics.

  • Support initiatives related to Gender Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (GEDI).

  • Serve as a liaison for Employee Resource Groups and the GEDI Council, ensuring their recommendations are communicated effectively.

Key Working Relationships:

  • Direct Reporting: Senior Director – Employee Experience

  • Management In Partnership: GEDI Director, People and Operations

  • Internal: P&C Partners, Partners, P&C CoEs

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Communications, or a related field.

  • 6+ years of experience in employee engagement, HR, internal communications, or related fields with proven project management skills.

  • At least 2 years of experience in the humanitarian and/or international development sector.

  • At least 3 years of experience working in IRC’s operational regions.

  • Lived experience or professional experience in IRC Global South locations is preferred.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Understanding of power dynamics in organizations, elevating underrepresented voices.

  • Experience with employee surveys, incorporating DEI lens, and analyzing data for actionable insights.

  • Proven track record in establishing and managing employee engagement feedback channels.

  • Outstanding communication skills (written, verbal, presentation).

  • Strong visual and graphic content creation skills.

  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities.

  • Empathy and a commitment to employee well-being.

  • Strong focus on execution with a “client-first” mentality.

Language Skills:

  • Excellent spoken and written English.

  • Proficiency in at least one additional language (French, Arabic, or Spanish).

Working Environment:

  • Standard office working environment.
