Job Overview:
The Employee Engagement Advisor will lead the implementation of strategies to enhance employee experience, focusing on promoting a culture of equity, belonging, and inclusion aligned with IRC’s Core Values. The role involves boosting staff engagement and satisfaction, ensuring employees' voices are heard, and supporting initiatives that drive inclusion and productivity. The advisor will work closely with senior leadership to manage feedback channels and act on employee insights, while advocating for diversity and inclusion across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Implementation: Collaborate with leadership to implement strategies enhancing employee engagement and belonging in line with IRC’s core values.
Communication Channels: Manage and improve channels for staff feedback (e.g., surveys, focus groups), ensuring that employee voices influence organizational decisions.
Action Plan Development: Work with leaders to develop action plans based on feedback, monitor progress, and adjust as needed.
Cultural Campaigns: Support internal campaigns promoting community and belonging, leveraging insights to enhance IRC’s Employee Value Proposition.
Employee Stories: Partner with Internal Communications to showcase diverse employee stories.
Engagement Metrics: Analyze and report on employee engagement metrics, providing insights to inform strategic decisions.
Support Diversity Initiatives: Support initiatives to promote gender equality, diversity, inclusion, and belonging (GEDI), and collaborate with Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and GEDI Council.
Data Protection: Ensure the protection of employee data in compliance with privacy standards.
Key Working Relationships:
Direct Reporting: Senior Director – Employee Experience
Partnerships: GEDI Director, People and Operations
Internal: People & Culture (P&C) Partners and CoEs
Requirements:
Education: Graduate degree in HR, Organizational Psychology, Communications, or related field.
Experience:
6+ years in employee engagement, HR, or internal communications.
At least 2 years in the humanitarian or international development sector.
Experience in IRC's operational countries or Global South preferred.
Skills:
Knowledge of organizational dynamics and ability to elevate underrepresented voices.
Experience with employee surveys, data analysis, and actionable insights.
Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.
Empathy and a passion for employee wellbeing.
Language Skills:
Required: Excellent spoken and written English.
Preferred: Proficiency in one additional language (French, Arabic, or Spanish).
