EHS Coordinator
TextRole Purpose:
The EHS Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the effective implementation and maintenance of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards across the organization. This includes promoting Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and ensuring that all sites comply with regulatory requirements. This position reports directly to the Group EHS Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Fire Safety & Emergency Preparedness: Ensure compliance with Fire Risk Reduction Rules, conduct fire drills, maintain firefighting equipment, and train employees on emergency response protocols.
Accidents & Incidents Management: Implement a system for documenting workplace incidents, investigate causes, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
PPE Compliance: Conduct audits to ensure the correct use of PPE across all departments and ensure the proper training of staff on PPE usage and safety.
Hygiene & Welfare Facilities Management: Oversee the maintenance of sanitary conditions in all facilities, ensure access to clean drinking water, and ensure proper first aid and welfare facilities are provided.
Housekeeping & Ergonomics: Ensure that workstations and emergency exits are clear of obstructions, implement ergonomic measures, and ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of work areas.
Electrical & Equipment Safety: Monitor electrical safety practices, ensure regular inspections, and maintain machines to prevent hazards.
Contractor & Waste Management: Ensure contractors adhere to safety standards and manage waste segregation, recycling, and disposal in compliance with regulations.
Air Quality & Chemical Safety: Oversee air quality in the workplace, ensuring proper ventilation and use of protective equipment, and manage the safe use and storage of chemicals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
NEBOSH Certification or equivalent is preferred
At least 1 year of experience in EHS, preferably within a manufacturing setup
Strong knowledge of OSHA 2007 regulations and related safety standards
Proficiency in MS Office applications and experience with mobile inspection tools (e.g., iAuditor, Form.com)
Excellent communication, analytical, and report-writing skills
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Timely completion of safety audits and incident reports
Consistent adherence to compliance with EHS regulations
Successful management of training sessions and safety drills
Effective waste management and environmental compliance
