Director of Operations

As the Director of Operations, you will inspire and lead your team to become brand ambassadors, providing leadership and strategic planning to all hotel departments to enhance our service culture, maximize operations, and boost guest satisfaction. You will guide, mentor, and execute plans to achieve guest and brand expectations, ensure employee potential is recognized, and provide meaningful ownership value to the hotel.

What you will be doing: Reporting to the Country Manager, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the Country Manager in the overall management and strategic direction of the hotel

  • Assisting in preparing the annual Operations Plan and achieving profit objectives

  • Ensuring monthly financial outlooks for Operating Departments are accurate and achieved

  • Implementing and delivering the Movenpick Culture and Standards consistently

  • Handling guest concerns and feedback, ensuring effective follow-up

  • Assisting in preparing and achieving the hotel’s Operating and Capital Expenditure Budgets

  • Overseeing financial outlooks for Rooms and Food & Beverage to ensure accuracy

  • Contributing to staff planning and maintaining productivity levels

  • Updating and ensuring awareness of the hotel’s Business Continuity, Emergency, and Crisis Management Plans

  • Actively participating in the recruitment of leadership positions within operating departments

  • Serving as a key member of the Hotel Executive Committee and Leadership Team

  • Ensuring full compliance with hotel operating controls

  • Collaborating with department heads to optimize service quality and efficiency

  • Fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement

  • Ensuring compliance with brand standards, policies, and regulations

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of previous hotel experience in a related field (at least 2 years as DOO/Hotel Manager)

  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and administrative skills

  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and manage multiple tasks

  • Extensive experience in operations management with a proven track record of coordinating multiple departments and achieving goals

  • Clear understanding of budget planning and execution

  • Exceptional interpersonal and guest relations skills, with system knowledge

  • Proven leadership skills, including the ability to motivate developing leaders and implement innovative, guest-satisfaction-driven solutions

  • Ability to lead by example and foster strong employee engagement

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
