Job Overview:
The Director of Global Procurement leads and provides strategic direction to the IRC procurement functions at global, regional, and country levels. The role focuses on aligning procurement with IRC’s strategic priorities, improving supply chain capabilities, and ensuring high-quality goods and services delivery across the organization. The Director will manage the Global Procurement Unit, develop sourcing strategies, and streamline procurement processes while working closely with other departments to drive efficiency and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with IRC’s global priorities.
Compliance: Revise and enforce procurement systems and policies, ensuring compliance with donor regulations and best practices.
Market Intelligence: Establish reliable mechanisms for market intelligence to improve procurement performance.
Staff Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of procurement professionals, promoting compliance and excellence.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Establish and evaluate KPIs for procurement activities and drive continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Finance, Compliance, Legal, and other departments to ensure procurement aligns with overall organizational goals.
Education and Experience:
Required: Bachelor’s in supply chain management or related field.
Preferred: Professional certification (e.g., CIPS) or a Master’s degree.
Experience: Minimum of 8 years in procurement management, preferably with international organizations.
Expertise: Knowledge of donor procurement regulations (e.g., USAID, ECHO, FCDO) and contract management.
Preferred: Experience in humanitarian or conflict settings.
Skills:
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong planning, prioritization, and time management abilities.
Proactive, solutions-oriented, and results-driven approach.
Fluency in French, Spanish, or Arabic is preferred.
Compensation:
US: USD 120,000 - 149,000 annually (for New York location)
UK: GBP 80,000 - 90,000 annually (for London location)
