About the Department: The Communications Officer role is part of Deloitte’s Consulting Department. This department supports clients in growth, business improvement, and strategic transformation. The role is crucial to the USAID-funded Tujenge Jamii Project, aimed at improving healthcare services in Kenya's four counties (Baringo, Laikipia, Samburu, and Nakuru).
Key Responsibilities:
Lead documentation and ensure compliance with USAID requirements for communication updates.
Collaborate with IT and other teams to maintain a database of project success stories.
Provide capacity-building support to staff on communications best practices.
Develop impact stories in collaboration with project team leads.
Represent the project in donor events and forums, enhancing visibility and resource mobilization.
Manage internal and external communications, including social media and public relations.
Foster strong relationships with media and monitor communications effectiveness.
Develop engaging content to demonstrate project progress and impact.
Assist in creating effective channels to communicate with various stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field; Professional qualification in Public Relations/Corporate Communications is a plus.
Experience: At least 5 years in communications within global organizations or large transformation programs.
Skills:
Strong communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work across diverse cultures and geographies.
Strong project management and delivery skills.
Creativity and innovation in content creation.
Expertise in internal communications and employee engagement.
Ability to think strategically and manage change effectively.
