Reporting to: Manager, Administration & Property
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement standards, procedures, and work instructions for real estate management.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, zoning regulations, and terms in land and lease administration.
Safeguard company interests within legal and regulatory frameworks while following company procedures.
Manage stakeholder engagements and collaborate on development plans during the real estate asset management cycle.
Oversee documentation of occupancies, land titling, and registration of company rights in land.
Lead the acquisition of land and buildings through allocations, leasing, or purchase for company use.
Handle resettlement plans for major power projects and distribution lines, resolving arising disputes.
Implement strategies and policies for land and lease management.
Oversee land use, space planning, and environmental scoping for proposed project sites.
Verify invoices, reconcile payments, and assess amounts payable in line with statutory and contractual obligations.
Manage property valuations, market surveys, rental assessments, and feasibility studies for real estate projects.
Supervise tenant management, rent collection, and letting of surplus space.
Handle land and lease administration, ensuring compliance with obligations by all parties.
Participate in drawing leases and legal documents for relevant stakeholders.
Monitor and optimize recurring expenditures within approved contracts and budgets.
Develop policies and strategies related to real estate management.
Evaluate and report on the corporate real estate portfolio's performance for decision-making.
Ensure safekeeping of property documents and records.
Appointment Specifications:
Bachelor's degree in Land Economics, Real Estate, or equivalent qualifications.
Post-graduate diploma in Valuation and Property Management, Facilities Management, Building Surveying, Project Management, Construction Management, Land Management, Physical Planning, or equivalent.
A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in real estate management.
Full/Professional Membership with the Institute of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK), Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), or Kenya Institute of Planners.
Registered Valuer/Estate Agent/Physical Planner.
Excellent planning, presentation, and evaluation skills.
Strong strategic thinking and analytical abilities.
Thorough understanding of the company’s business operations.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Creativity, innovation, and drive for results.
A deep commitment to the company’s vision and values.
