Job Overview:
The Pricing Consultant will join the Business Development (BD) roster and be invited to bid for Cost and Pricing assignments as opportunities arise. The role involves leading the development of budgets for large public funding proposals, ensuring compliance, competitiveness, and alignment with donor requirements. The consultant will provide technical assistance, quality assurance, and hands-on support throughout the business development lifecycle, focusing on balancing cost recovery, risk mitigation, price competitiveness, and donor regulations. The role works closely with IRC Country Offices, Finance, and Technical Units to support cost proposal development.
Key Responsibilities:
Capture & Program Design: Serve as the ‘Capture Pricing Lead’ and ensure preparedness for major funding opportunities. Research cost drivers specific to each country and assess pricing strategies.
Pricing Strategy & Budget Development: Lead or provide quality assurance for budget development in major proposals, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with donor regulations. Identify financial and commercial risks and propose mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with Partners: Provide technical guidance to partners and integrate their pricing inputs into the consolidated budget.
Proposal Reviews: Conduct cost reviews and ensure adherence to IRC’s processes, policies, and donor requirements.
Qualifications:
Education: Degree (minimum BA) in public administration, business administration, management, economics, or related field.
Experience: At least three years of experience developing cost proposals, including for grant and contract types such as Payment by Results and fee rate structures. Knowledge of USG, FCDO, or EU financial rules and regulations.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a remote team, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Other: Ability to travel internationally and work autonomously under remote management.
