Role Purpose:
The Business Development Manager, Corporate Business will report to the General Manager, Corporate Strategic Partnerships & IPMI and will be based at the Head Office in Nairobi. The position holder will oversee the new corporate insurance portfolio, developing and implementing strategies to manage the corporate business, analyse risks, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Development:
Business Growth Strategy: Develop and implement a growth strategy for the corporate insurance business aligned with organizational objectives and market needs. Identify new opportunities, segments, and clients to expand the corporate insurance portfolio.
Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor strategies, and client needs, using this information to develop strategies for positioning the organization as the preferred provider of corporate insurance solutions.
Operational:
Sales and Revenue Generation: Lead sales for corporate insurance products, manage the sales pipeline, close deals, and develop effective strategies including pricing models, sales campaigns, and incentive programs.
Client Acquisition and Relationship Management: Identify potential clients and build strong relationships by understanding their insurance needs and providing tailored solutions. Ensure effective onboarding and ongoing support.
Corporate Governance:
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices. Implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential risks and adhere to ethical standards.
Policy and Procedure Development: Contribute to the development of policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and support for corporate governance.
Laws, Regulations, Company Policies: Stay informed about relevant external laws and internal company policies, ensuring compliance and fostering an ethical culture within the organization.

Academic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related course
Insurance Professional qualification (ACII/IIK)
Relevant Experience:
Minimum of 7 years in business development or sales, with at least 4 years focused on corporate accounts in the insurance or healthcare sector.
Strong understanding of medical insurance products, corporate healthcare solutions, and industry practices.
