The Opportunity
We are looking for passionate and driven individuals to join our team as Business Development Advisors in Garissa and Dadaab. This position offers the chance to work directly with micro and small entrepreneurs, empowering them to grow their businesses and contribute to their communities' development. As a Business Growth Services team member, your role will have a direct impact on creating thriving local economies.
Key Responsibilities
Client Mobilization (10%):
Identify and enroll entrepreneurs who meet program criteria.
Communicate program details to participants and ensure messages are understood.
Represent the organization in the community and establish connections with local partners.
Training (40%):
Ensure entrepreneurs are informed about and attend all training sessions.
Organize training logistics, including venue setup, materials, and attendance tracking.
Deliver training in Somali, Kiswahili, and English using provided materials.
Business Consulting & Client Relationship Management (40%):
Conduct monthly site visits to assess business needs and provide advisory services.
Offer practical, strategic advice to help clients improve their sustainability and profitability.
Track and maintain accurate records of client business progress.
Connect clients with additional services, including access to finance and further training.
Community Activities Coordination (10%):
Build strong relationships with local authorities and partners in Garissa and Dadaab.
Represent the organization in community stakeholder meetings.
Assist with organizing and implementing community activities and events.
What We Are Looking For
Skills:
Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, PPT)
Strong communication and relationship-building abilities (English, Kiswahili, Somali)
Understanding of micro and small businesses
Ability to work under pressure and deliver results
Financial and accounting literacy
Qualifications:
University degree or currently pursuing a relevant field (Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, etc.)
Must be based in Garissa or Dadaab
Smartphone access 24/7 is a plus
