Job Description:
The Associate Manager - Regional Sales is responsible for driving the sales of BIC products within the allocated region, ensuring that sales volume and value targets are met. This role includes managing third-party sales teams, distributor sales representatives, and ensuring the effective execution of sales and marketing strategies. The Associate Manager will also be responsible for building strong relationships with customers, identifying new opportunities, and ensuring product availability and visibility across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure BIC products are sold to customers within the allocated region.
Achieve monthly sales volume and value targets across all categories (Stationery, Lighters, and Shavers).
Oversee the implementation of sales and marketing activations.
Manage third-party sales teams and distributor sales representatives, ensuring sales targets, coverage, and strike rate are achieved.
Implement promotions during key periods such as Mini/Major Back to School and Shaver/Lighter promotional periods.
Compile and submit required sales operations and market intelligence reports.
Build and maintain solid trade relations with key customers.
Identify new customers and sales opportunities within the region.
Increase distribution of existing and new products to the customer base.
Track customer needs, product trends, and competitor activity.
Motivate and coach BIC and distributor sales teams to enhance their capability and capacity.
Conduct weekly and monthly business and performance reviews with distributors and sales teams.
Submit weekly sellout data and stock position to the Sales Analyst.
Ensure that BIC products are constantly available and visible, with no gaps in coverage across the region.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Conduct weekly distributor sales performance review meetings with action points and timelines.
Achieve 80% of the distributor strike rate target.
Manage BSRs and ensure that targets are met.
Achieve 80% of the OSA target for all merchandised outlets.
Education & Experience:
Education: Bachelor's degree in merchandising, sales, marketing, or a related field.
Experience: 10+ years of experience in the FMCG industry (preferred).
Skills:
Strong data analysis skills to assess data sets and identify patterns and opportunities for improvement.
Strong presentation skills to communicate findings, forecasts, and projections to management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
Leadership and team coordination skills.
High level of organization and attention to detail.
Ability to complete complex and high-pressure tasks.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
General understanding of relevant legislation governing the use of data in operations.
