Overview:
Who May Apply/Clarification:
Open to employees of Mission-All, USEFMs, EFMs, or MOHs.
Actual FP salary determined by Washington D.C. for USEFM.
Security Clearance Required: Public Trust - Background Investigation.
Appointment Type: Permanent (Indefinite subject to successful completion of probationary period).
Duties:
The ACS Consular Assistant will provide services to U.S. citizens in Kenya and Somalia, adhering to U.S. Department of State and Post policies. Responsibilities include:
Emergency and non-emergency consular services.
Processing citizenship services, passports, repatriations, and welfare cases.
Maintaining contacts with Somali and Kenyan government officials, immigration, police, and other entities for effective service delivery.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible work involving public contact, customer service, and application of regulatory knowledge.
Education:
Completion of Secondary School.
Two years of College/University studies.
Skills and Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of local laws (Kenya/Somalia), immigration, crime, and marriage/divorce matters.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Fluency in English (Level IV) and working knowledge of Somali or Kiswahili (Level III).
Skills:
Strong communication and data entry skills.
Ability to interpret regulatory documents and manage emergencies tactfully.

Preference given to qualified U.S. Veterans, AEFM, and FS employees under LWOP.
