3RD ASSISTANT ENGINEER, E-MOBILITY, CENTRAL OFFICE

Reporting to: Chief Engineer
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement E-Mobility strategies to support the company’s sustainability goals.
Manage projects related to Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, including design, installation, and maintenance.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in electric vehicles and motorcycles, including batteries, motors, and charging systems.
Develop and manage budgets for E-Mobility projects.
Develop EV and EV charging infrastructure product specifications.
Conduct market research and stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, software updates, and manufacturer recommendations for electric vehicles.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to E-Mobility, including safety standards and environmental regulations.
Collaborate with external partners and vendors to source E-Mobility equipment and services.
Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, industry associations, and customers.
Participate in training, workshops, and seminars to stay current with the latest technologies and techniques in electric vehicle repair.
Adhere to safety protocols when working with high-voltage electrical systems to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Appointment Specifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering (Electronics & Control Systems), Automotive Engineering, or related field from a recognized institution.
A minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience in the field of E-Mobility or electrical systems.
Registration with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
Strong understanding of electrical systems, power electronics, and control systems.
Proficient in diagnosing electric vehicle systems.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Creativity and innovative thinking to develop effective solutions.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and negotiation skills.
Detail-oriented with excellent record-keeping abilities.
